Clambake Fundraiser Nets Record Catch

BRIDGEPORT—About 100 agency staff and supporters took part in Visiting Nurse Services (VNS) of Connecticut’s 2008 Clambake fundraiser at the Milford Yacht Club June 11, raising more than $25,000 for the nonprofit agency, a new event record.   Sponsorships—including UBS’ role as Presenting Sponsor for the event, raffles and special project donations accounted for the bounty, which was nearly five percent higher than the previous year.  Proceeds from the event will help to underwrite the agency’s Hospice at Home™ and Medically Underserved programs.  Guests at the clambake enjoyed an open bar followed by lobster, prime rib of beef or salmon dinners and a short program recognizing special guests and sponsors.  This year’s event was the eighth annual Clambake for VNS, which will celebrate its 100th birthday in 2009.
